Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Cees [“case”] Links is a pioneer of the wireless data industry, a visionary leader bringing the world of mobile computing and continuous networking together. Under his responsibility, the first wireless LANs were developed which ultimately became house-hold technology integrated into the PCs and notebooks we are all familiar with. He also pioneered the development of access points, home networking routers and hotspot base stations, all widely used today.
In late 2004 Cees started with GreenPeak Technologies. GreenPeak is a fabless semiconductor company with a strong focus on wireless for ultra-low power sense and control networks for remote controls for consumer electronics like TVs and set-top boxes and applications like security and home automation. Cees’ vision is to “build a smarter world” by developing a communications platform between devices sensing and enabling us to control our lives.
Cees started his career at NCR Computers where he was responsible for the development and launch of the world’s first wireless LAN product in 1990, a major innovation at that time. Throughout several acquisitions and divestitures (NCT, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Agere Systems), Cees continued his work in the wireless LAN area, which he turned into a multi-hundreds million dollar business for Agere Systems. He directly closed a deal with Apple Computer in 1999 that ignited the growth of the wireless LAN industry. Though this deal, wireless LANs went on to become a standard notebook feature.
Cees was involved in the establishment of the IEEE 802.11 standardization committee and the WiFi Alliance. He was also instrumental in helping to establish the IEEE 802.15 standardization committee to become the basis for the ZigBee sense and control networking technology and standardization.
Currently, Mr. Links is Marketing Chair for RF4CE in the ZigBee Alliance.
Cees Links holds a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Twente University of Technology in Enschede, The Netherlands.
VP Business DevelopmentFrans has over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with Agere Systems, Lucent Technologies, AT&T, RF Micro Devices and BridgeCo, where he has built up a wealth of know-how, in Engineering, Marketing and Business Development.
His recent positions were in Business Development and Strategic Marketing, where he has been instrumental in shaping the direction of companies, as well as driving the revenue and the development of new markets and customers. Frans has world wide business experience, with a focus on the wireless markets and was in particular instrumental in the success and build out of WiFi in the PC Market.
Frans holds a Bachelors Degree in Electronics and is (co-)author of three patents.
Wilco van Hoogstraeten
As CTO, Wilco is responsible for the hardware and software development. He has over 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, in a variety of roles managing ASIC and software projects, leading platform architecture, and building end-user consumer products.
At GreenPeak Technologies, Wilco´s focus is on creating product platforms that are the most cost-effective and low-power in the market, building on his extensive experience in developing production-ready designs and successfully getting customers into production.
Most recently Wilco was VP of Engineering at BridgeCo, a start-up pioneer in wireless audio technology, where he successfully developed the next generation audio-focused 802.11-based ASIC and software stacks. Before BridgeCo he was working in various management positions at Equator Technologies, TriMedia Technologies, and Philips Semiconductors.
Wilco holds a MSc in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.
Paul de Wit
CFOPaul brings over 20 years of experience in Finance & Accounting of which almost 15 years in the Telecom & ICT branche. He had a 12 years long career within AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Agere Systems Accounting and Operations and was within that period for 7 years financially responsible for the Wireless LAN division during a period that wireless LAN grew from the early technology phase to a $300M business unit and mainstream technology.
Besides this he has held several other management positions.
As Chief Operations Officer, Trevor is responsible for all Operations activities at GreenPeak. This includes supply chain management, characterization, qualification and test engineering activities. Trevor has over 15 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry.
Trevor joined CSR in 2000 and during his 13 years at CSR held a number of development and program management roles, culminating in the position of Director of Programme Management. After CSR, Trevor was Director of Operations for Samsung Electronics for 2 years, then EDA Partner Manager at ARM Holdings.
Trevor holds a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science with Chemistry.
VP OperationsAs VP of Operations, Kees is responsible for managing GreenPeak’s fabless production line. He combines 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and telecommunication industry, covering various technical and managerial roles ranging from advanced development towards supply chain management.
Kees joined GreenPeak in 2006, where he has been responsible for early stage product development. Most recently, he transformed GreenPeak’s supply chain to enable mass manufacturing. He guided the process from initial design release into high volume production. He has been responsible for the GreenPeak’s quality assurance program to assure the highest quality of the communication devices delivered.
Prior to GreenPeak, Kees co-founded ThreeFive Photonics - a pioneer in monolithic optical integration. He also worked for Lucent Technologies for several years on innovative projects in the area of high-speed communication networks.
