Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Cees [“case”] Links is a pioneer of the wireless data industry, a visionary leader bringing the world of mobile computing and continuous networking together. Under his responsibility, the first wireless LANs were developed which ultimately became house-hold technology integrated into the PCs and notebooks we are all familiar with. He also pioneered the development of access points, home networking routers and hotspot base stations, all widely used today.

In late 2004 Cees started with GreenPeak Technologies (originally under the stealth name of Xanadu Wireless). GreenPeak is a fabless semiconductor company with a strong focus on wireless for sense and control networks in combination with battery-less technology, targeting communication devices working on ambient energy. Cees’ vision is to “build a smarter world” by developing a communications platform between devices sensing and enabling us to control our lives.

Cees started his career at NCR Computers were he was responsible for the development and launch of the world’s first wireless LAN product in 1990, a major innovation at that time. Throughout several acquisitions and divestitures (NCT, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Agere Systems), Cees continued his work in the wireless LAN area, which he turned into a multi-hundreds million dollar business for Agere Systems. He directly closed a deal with Apple Computer in 1999 that ignited the growth of the wireless LAN industry. Though this deal, wireless LANs went on to become a standard notebook feature.
Cees  was involved in the establishment of the IEEE 802.11 standardization committee and the Wi-Fi Alliance. He was also instrumental in helping to establish the IEEE 802.15 standardization committee to become the basis for the ZigBee sense and control networking technology and standardization.

Cees Links holds a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Twente University of Technology in Enschede, The Netherlands.

Wim De Kimpe
Chief Technology Officer

Wim De Kimpe is CTO of GreenPeak. Wim is responsible for establishing the company’s technical vision and direction of the development and ensures that GreenPeak keeps a leading edge in the industry.

Wim brings over a decade of engineering and engineering management experience. In his prior occupation at Philips, Wim was responsible for a world-class design team making ICs for optical storage devices like CD, DVD and Blu-ray. Wim was also heavily involved in the creation of Blu-ray and DVD+R standards.

He managed the technical offering of pre-sales projects and closed several large OEM deals, which brings him a solid track record of delivering solutions and taking complex products from concept to production. Wim’s vast experience in bringing new technologies to fruition helps penetrate new markets and discern the competitiveness of GreenPeak’s technology.

Wim’s experience in training, his excellent interpersonal skills and people management style have made him mentor and coach of the development team.

As one of the world’s few true experts and technology visionary in Wireless Sensor Networks, he is often invited as guest speaker in industry conferences. Wim is also a contributing member of several technology standardization organizations.

He is an MS in electrical engineering from the University of Ghent in Belgium.
Wim is author of 6 patents.

Frans Frielink
VP Business Development

Frans has over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with Agere Systems, Lucent Technologies, AT&T, RF Micro Devices and BridgeCo, where he has built up a wealth of know-how, in Engineering, Marketing and Business Development.

His recent positions were in Business Development and Strategic Marketing, where he has been instrumental in shaping the direction of companies, as well as driving the revenue and the development of new markets and customers. Frans has world wide business experience, with a focus on the wireless markets and was in particular instrumental in the success and build out of Wi-Fi in the PC Market.

Frans holds a Bachelors Degree in Electronics and is (co-)author of three patents.

Elly Schietse
Director Marketing & Communications

Elly brings many years of B2B marketing and corporate communications to GreenPeak. She has been involved in the creation and positioning of several technology companies and has extensive experience in the areas of marketing & communications with a deep knowledge of all facets of corporate communications, press relations, direct marketing, market research, etc. In her previous positions, she has worked in marcom and sales functions for a variety of software product lines including Adobe and Macromedia.
Elly is passionate about communications and a true "evangelist" of GreenPeak’s green offering. She uses her many years of experience to take care of the positioning of the company, to build and communicate the corporate story and to develop and implement the corporate marketing plan.

Elly Schietse is also General Manager of GreenPeak Belgium.

Wilco van Hoogstraeten
VP Product Development

As VP of Product Development, Wilco is responsible for the hardware and software development. He has over 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, in a variety of roles managing ASIC and software projects, leading platform architecture, and building end-user consumer products.

At GreenPeak Technologies, Wilco´s focus is on creating product platforms that are the most cost-effective and low-power in the market, building on his extensive experience in developing production-ready designs and successfully getting customers into production.

Most recently Wilco was VP of Engineering at BridgeCo, a start-up pioneer in wireless audio technology, where he successfully developed the next generation audio-focused 802.11-based ASIC and software stacks. Before BridgeCo he was working in various management positions at Equator Technologies, TriMedia Technologies, and Philips Semiconductors.

Wilco holds a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.
